Patterns created by a succulent can be very interesting especially if there is color also. It helps that cacti and succulents are my favorite group of plants. {SE Arizona}

There are some people who think the desert is ugly and barren. They just never stop to look, for there is great beauty and diversity in the desert. [SE Arizona]

I missed a very good chance to get a great, clear photo of this Gila Monster as he lay on the edge of the road. Despite his sluggish movement, I still had to recover from the shock of what I was seeing to get this shot. He was the first ever “wild” Gila Monster that I have ever seen. [SE Arizona]

Andra said “Look! There’s a Mexican Sister butterfly!” I photographed it for her but found out later that is is the closely related and similarly patterned “California Sister”. But now I know what the “Mexican Sister” looks like, might see one of those in the future. [Garden Canyon on Fort Huachuca, SE Arizona}

This page is not for birds but I could not resist posting this cute little Bewick’s Wren that we saw in Green Valley, AZ. [SE Arizona]

Probably a Botta’s Pocket Gopher based on the locale. [SE Arizona]
